Emancipation

Woman I ran from you
Years ago
All your rage
The guise of your love
I sit here today
The man who took his freedom
On my terms
I never gave up on myself
You delivered to me
Over then over again
That stumbling loss of life
The boy doomed to failure
Because you willed it to be
And I never believed
Nor ever trusted you
Because only one can fail me
And now
I move on once again

It seems, Norton, via the last suite of poems, that you are undergoing some sort of clearing of heart, mind, and soul. Will there be anyone on the other side to meet you? What will fill the spaces created? How will all this happen? Doesn't matter really, just so long as you are to meet yourself. Courage Norton. Courage.
