O & Xmas

I
love you
Simple as that
No obligation, no fanfare
Today, above all, it is you I think of
Living so full of gifts, celebrating our lives
Intertwined and so far, apart the sadness grows fonder
Yet my heart is here grateful for you
My love for
My loves

Scent You Us

Oh my,
Oh my, oh my, oh my
It certainly feels right and real
His arm gently across her
Possessive and close
Only them
Swaying to the art
Back then forth
The children occupied
A couple momentary
Alone together
Nuzzling in her hair
Sensing their scent
Their mind turning to…
Oh my,
Oh my, oh my, oh my
The body interested
It sends forth the signs
Only they can perceive
Two too interested
In and out of the moment
They mingle of themselves
In memory, their memory
Come together in scent
Remembered together
Our sense.

Downhill

Wheeee!
Here we are
Five bums on a big comfy couch
Of a slide
The long undulating slope before us
Filled with excitement
Filled with opportunity
Trees, no problem.
We can navigate around them
Shrubs, we will doze over
And we’re off
Overweight
Over-imbibed
Ready for bear
Hard right around the spruce grove
Picking up speed
Collapsing through the banks
Sprays of frozen flakes pour over
And over
Filling faces peals of laughter
Through the shrubs
Propelled pioneers
Forging new paths
First one path, then two
And finally a third
The last exacting its revenge
Slicing a gash through the cushion
Our big comfy couch of a slide
Deflating as we pick up speed
Now a carpet of five joined souls
Over a snow hump
Airborne to the edge of the ditch
Through, landed, and dumped
Unceremoniously upon the road
We scramble apart
As the country pick-up
Rolls over
Deflating the last of our steed
Laughing, crying, big children
Stuck in a ditch
Warmth in friendship
Love in our fellows

dintensions

He is a cranky old bugger
This time of the year
Especially as he finds his way
His own self-seeking fashion
Contrary to so many
Complimentary to his manner
A necessity of means
Will yield the best mode
Time the crucial median
To find the center ground
“Do the work and show it”
So says his teacher
“An answer is not an answer
Until the work is done
There are no short cuts
Dear life pupil
You are as yet a novice
Responders will hurt
Supporters will respond
And hence the journey reached
We all will celebrate”
Sorry, but I must study
Cause I really must excel
The future of this very world
Depends on me to do extremely well
So leave it be
To leave me be
To be the best of me
I will arrive you know
Exactly precisely intentionally
As God intends me to be
