The Liturgy of the Bull in the China Shop

Be it decreed this bone-headed smithy is the unflinching idiot of idioms
Lexical regurgiltical flim flams emanate from this, the mentality flawed
Whoa Nellie sayeth he, whatever does that shite mean?
It isn’t, no truly and honestly it isn’t.
It is the understanding of the beautifully incapacitated mind
Understood by beautifully creative minds to see capacity sensationed above then under-mind
This is to mean one means this and the other means that and neither is meant to be mean
If you get the meaning.
This vocality (noun: that place where the utterance comes from before the thought is fully articulated)
Is taken at the word whatever
What is experienced is the utterance of the miscommunicated
The cause of the excommunication
Oh what a jumbled word is weaving back and forth till meaning is lost
And in exasperation exaggeration the peddle puddle of explanation excoriation
And is stripped raw
Splat flat falls Jack again for another time passed to try
Forgiven forgotten Jack does not shirk but could mope
Upon my word!... meaning this thing we misunderstand
Verbally it is said unto you subscribe to this
For no harm save harmless is intended
For to do so would render one no heart, the heartless of…
Oh!

(Dear Lord, why ever do I get so sensitively confused (just saying), Amen)

Being

Float as one together
Being existences
Fingers tip to tip afloat
Flying in turns, a twirl
A step
And thanks
To the force
Abundance flowing across pillows
From land to sea
There are layers here
Heat and cold and wind
Pull feeding life to share and spread
Into the source
And she in turn returns
A shear sparkle in blue
And angry roar
Gentle fun to children
Of every age and creed
Laughter a present to the breeze
Her deep blue ashore
A world of life
Chased up the chain
From water to land and home again
Blessed are we for the gift
Share it
A singular dance
Of all
Touch to touched

WinnipEchuka

Ruby faced children squeal in delight
Possessive places across their toys
Defensive poised with brothers
They stand
Learned from within
Or from out
It is mine shared only with will
Granted by strength of lineage
We take

The gentle river does rage
A confluence where people's meet
Lines of time roam the shores
Streets of commerce mixed modern
Antiques and time
Cultures clash from afar
Laud in mix of language and food
And control

A stingy gravel road
Parched in this heat
Meanders the ancient gums
A link between industry
And water
Boats nosed into the banks
Of this regal state
New sleek modern conditioned vessels
Give way to the only waterborne trade this day
The wheels churning in muddy waters
A force against the current

This dry land surprises the new man
His skin bakes red to brown
Beneath a common sun
The waters meet echuka
A mixing place, a meeting place
The waters meet winnipeg
A mixing place, a meeting place
All flow across this common earth
To meet in the salts

The winds pull sight
He is black he is white
Eyes stare into our deep
From across the water we search
This mixing place
This meeting place
We trade acknowledged welcome
A wave
You've come to country
Live within its soul

Keys

They unlock mysteries
Open doors of my life
Grant me transport
A portal of freedom
Highways of interest
The jingled in my pocket
Reminders of where I can enter
And protect
Enclosure of self
And now they melt away
A flat released
She has my keys to that future now
And will enjoy it I know
Keys to my employment
Security of livelihood
An office abandoned to another
Doors previously open
Closed forever to me
Finally my car key
Transportation of freedom
Gone to another
To find his new freedoms
No jingle now
I lift away
Lightened of the load
All wonderful memories
Life loved
Keys exchanged and changed
The keys of my heart given
To all that I love
And I land again
To build new life
A jingle in my pocket
The first given access
My home
My love

Pity

Forgive me

Really?  But for what?
Your words ring shallow.

You know, just forgive me.

No.  You must say the words
I need to know you know

But I don’t see

Then I cannot forgive.
You do not need forgiveness
You need to feel I am not angry with you
But I am
I cannot forgive you
I will not
Because you have no regret
So I will not forgive
But I will forget
You

Sixty-Five

What happens when…
People are attracted to each other
Deep and abiding love
One to another the time is fold
Brief and happy moments relinquish
To parting, then parting again
A kiss
Held
A touch
Held
And from afar
A wave
Held
And then held again
Soon says I, it is only a short while
Lives lived as one
Parted yet again
Separate, distinct
It is only water
Soon says I, it will be very soon
Tick (that one done)
Tick (another)
Each day
I love you closer

Bare

found it
Love that is
She, it, took me by surprise
And wouldn't let go
I did fight, I truly did
I used every logical bone in this broken old body
And she healed me
Simple patient understanding
I found love.

Disdain found me
It did
And it fought through insult
And anger
It tried to test and tear me
Tear us
Steal away this joy
And she healed me
Simple patient understanding
I found love

Vengeance came
To steal my time away
To fight my happiness
Through material stolen
Not able to live as self
And she healed me
Simple patient understanding
I found love

And she gave me her heart
And showered me in trust
She shared in my weakness
And bolstered my strength
She moved in with my shadows
And cast me with light
And honored me with love
And body
And mind and soul
And Her hand

And she healed me
My soul bare, bleeding, and raw
Simple patient understanding
I found love

Pilgrim

To find myself
I must embark
My journey
My joy of heart.
Suppressed in sad
A moving tribute
I wish was with you.
This space will place
Time and thought
Resolve to find
The passage.
To self be true
Selfless for you
Selfish must be for both.
Find me
Find you
And where we stand
Ours a common land
I shall return
To you with I
A renewed and hopeful man.

With You

It is all so new
The discovery
The feeling
Mad
Sort of
But in the end never
The talks
And walks
Food
Wine
Music
The poetry
The pageantry
Your beauty
Natural especially
With no make-up
And ruffled hair
Beside me
Asleep
Your breath
Your peace
Trust
It is all so new
It is all so confusing
I want to be confused with you
I do

Succor

Come dear friend
Sleep with me
Find solace in our breath
Temporary though it may be
Protected in each other
Safety as we hold hands
Like otters we never float apart
Be pleased we can trust
In touch we find newness
In breath and reaction
And we can be in solitude
Protected side by side
Humanity and truth
Warmth in age
Man and Man
Woman and Woman
Woman and Man
Spouses espoused
Friends adopted to family
We are as such
In peace in anger
In solitude in magnitude
Pause all
For our real matters
Unpause
& Continue

Dear Diary

So like I am awake
And all girly
With feelings and such
Like geez
I am a pathetic lonely guy
I am a guy aren’t I?

Yup

So like I saw myself in the mirror
After a horror film night
Battling the demons in my head
And I saw
Einstein!!!!
Cool man, says 14 year old me
You look like Einstein
Time to brush your teeth
But not your hair
Cause you look like Einstein
But your girly side is so lonely
Boy
(I think) I need a pancake
A Giant Apple Pancake
With butter and maple syrup
And lots of strong coffee
Dear Diary
I may be lonely
But my belly is happy
And I look like Einstein
And I am a guy.
I checked

Veracity

Feel no regret
For being ever real
The false has no place

In this heart

Only children can live
In love and in trust
You have proved
The heart of the child
The honest and true
And I love
In you

Never Sit Out

Waffles and falafels she said
The perfect dance of foods
Launch the day to a fools delight
Waffles fat and fluffy
Cream and strawberries
Such a thing will carry you on
Permanently into the night
And dance all the day through the parks
And the streets
Let the reflections and sun dogs
The chill of the air
Kiss frost in those cheeks
And look out day crowds
For it is we who will dance
Twirls and bows
We split you in bowls
And tired we arrive
Falafels, its time
Fat peas and olive oils
Fried to deep goodness
Reenergize for night
As we pirouette to dusk light
We fly to the sky
And fall with the flakes
I am happy I asked
You out on this dance
Had I sat this one out
I would never know this thrill
Swirl through the seasons
Live for all reasons
Take every dance
Take every chance

The Way of Junctures Conduit

The journey is one so improbable
A touch between people
Lines of connection
We burst into the world
Products of culture
From nations far and flung
A settlement to place
Lines in space
Intermingled means
Touch
In the medium
Shards of light shed from joining
We come from below
Head to heart to part
The journey begins

It starts with Faith
Cartography of coincidence
Stirred from the soul of one greater than either
Humbled and grateful
We need only listen
Imbued we are with free will
A message of faith
Across points of time
These intended paths take a fork
Away from a future
Something not right
Yet product so right
How could we have been wrong
And the greater in faith
Is never wrong

It continues in Hope
Breaks in word
In couples
Always knowing something better awaits
Do not lose Hope
For in Hope will be found
The means to express
The conduit to our place
Where again we meet again and again

It comes as Love
A journey long
Rewarded
Labour to this love
For she shall love he forever
And he shall love she forever
Juncture across this vast map
Shards of light in sun and stars
Gather in brightness
Banded never ended
A pair singular in journey
A pair to prophet the journey
Free in will
Filled in faith, in hope
For love

Drift

Futility drives one here
The end
Doubts, self doubts
Echoes
And then you buoy me
Come close dear friend
Let me breathe new life into you
Together we are afloat
Reliant on an uncertainty
Knowing it is there
Through the liquid
Amniotic seas see
The dove so free
Returns beneath the hued arc
The signs, our futures
The foundation in firmament renewed

Naught Enough

Where for art thou dear friend
This space so bald and empty
Positions learned from experience
Converge here
A decision made
To be honoured
Not because it is honourable
Or just
Or right
Honoured because it is what you need
A selfish decision made for you
Congratulations
You are alive for love
Open for romance
In your own incomprehensible way
Of course
As a matter of courses learned
Not sensed
It is right my friends
It is what is right kindred
Greet with arms spread
This joy deserved
For the void is filled
A life fulfilled
Is a life filled for all loved
So why would it be so hard
Unexplainable right.

Distance Evanescent

Hear he says, I am here
A short while is all
Connections tenuous
Remarkable
We share lives in moments
Snippets we are
Pixilated yearners
Resultant learners
These fleeting glances
A reality so real
It is as if you are just here
Or I am just there
It works
And now it shall work
In deemed transformations
Unforced and evolved
Tenuous is not an issue
Presence presenting
Forthcoming imminence

Requiem Retaliate

What madness awaits within these walls
The throngs convinced of need uncertain
A hive of activity to gain
Inactive uncertain outcomes
Economy built and thrust down
On the weight of mass folly
Convinced our duty to our nation
Lays solely upon the quota
Of a need unneeded
Lemmings all
Driven to consumption by politicos
In mad belief of our way of life
A furious blend of layer upon layer
Systematically designed to hail a winner
For which there must be equal or perhaps greater losers
This simple orb of ours
Will mythically sustain this forever
So long as someone loses
So long as someone suffers
And that someone is over there
Ha!
You shall all lose says the orb
Except for I
For it will be upon your corpse
That I shall renew
That those who have slain themselves
Have built upon my richness
And created earthly wealth again
You, driven by inexorable selfish desire
To consume
From me
From those not of your stature
We shall rise you know
Me the earth
Them the meek
We seek only fair balance
A distribution of the bounty I can provide to you all
Eschew these shops, the madness of this mall
Seek that only that is truly a need
Find warmth in the beauty of my scene
Seek comfort in the company of your friends
Share your art to the betterment of you all
Make love in companionship in friendship
Dream a future for your children
The greatest blessing of all
A sign your life may carry on
Should you wish it
Should I see your wish true
Should I grant your wish
The balance of your stock
Your mercantile trade
A meeting of need
A sharing of this wealth
Provide to me only that which is beautiful
And I shall provide to you all that is bountiful
Simple and balanced
I now can only hope

Slap

Slap

Unexpected
From left field
Contentment to wondering

I hate you… slap

Really

What did I do again to deserve your derision?

Slap
Slap

The mute sits uninspired
The deaf reclines to the unknown
The blind cocks to curiosity

And we all aspire to own our own.
Lost to be the lone.

Wired Indifference

Sometimes
You have to give a man a chance
To trust what he does not know
Yet

Top floor please
I don’t know why
But I really need to see from there
From on high
Pompous bastard they may call me
But understand
I need to understand
I know I do not know
And it disturbs me
You know

So there you have it yes
Feeling nothing
No laughter
No pain
No love
Snippets of stuff
Enter this ether
And manifest in that
This indifferent mind
Believes it should be
      And could be

To let it happen
To open this tin heart
This golden road
To have what you have
      Could it be
      Could I see
Too

Sadly the lift drops again
Grounded in reality
Wired indifference
Renders itself
A soul in the world
Loving the real
Wishing nay hoping
For a place
The connection
The connected
