Making Angels

A fool rushed in
And the Angel followed
Protector with fear
A dive within the snow
To explode in frigidity
And warmth
To his feeble
Lay still dear man
In time all will be clear
This is all so new
As old as time itself
What you experience
Is humanity itself
Denied by me and many
Craved by me and all
It is alpha and omega
It is all pain
All joy
All consuming
And consumed
Be still and patient dear man
Lay here beside me in this snow
Angels before God’s experience
For you and for I
And never will we forget

Indelible

So good
So gentle
She made a mark on my soul
She sat in my dark
And brought forth the light
The mark of the promise
The voice of the reasoned
She gave of herself
Selfless flawless raw
Guided me forth
How could it be
To take a being so dark
And find within that so worn
A canvas prepared
Create your masterpiece
“I can’t”
For he loves
And I cannot be loved
For who would take me
Damaged and torn
Who would take me
Ugly hideous repulsive
Blighted by the uncaring
The unhealthy the tattered
Who would take me
Unworthy
“I would”
And I wanted
Mere opposites attract
So I thought
But we are alike
Two negatives
Being positives
Repelled in inertia
Impossible to remove
These laws
These physics
This directive
Do not love
Me

Once Upon a Ridge

Wind is blowing in from the north
I watch in awe from this high ridge
Perched on an edge
To my right water for the Pacific
To my left for the Gulf
Clouds rolled slowly toward me
Roiling greasy blackness
Supplanting the last of the summer sun
The trees went still and the birds quiet
All was still as the fog settled
And then the lightening
No sound just flashes
I sat in silent terror
I sat in wondrous awe
The charged air building to crescendo
To release the winter snows
Falling hard and softly
Spreading the warm deep downy blanket
Just but a few minutes
The clouds moved on
Leaving me without trail
A white cotton with life renewing
Marmots and squirrels
Chickadee and nuthatch
All break from the snow
To play in the sun
A new season has arrived
A descent alone and peaceful
Down from the white glare
Through the fog and mist
Into the depth snow
And soon for home
Blessed

Root

Every relationship a reciprocal
You touch I touch we touch each
To leave a piece upon apiece
Respectfully we hope we pray
Care taken steps as taken to take
And give to return to source
This part of me wedged ajar
That part of you staid open
Resolute both a discovery
And fearful breathtaking
Scenery astounding
A fountain beauty
Only our special
Place revealed
Reverence
For you
Never
Lost

Pilgrim

To find myself
I must embark
My journey
My joy of heart.
Suppressed in sad
A moving tribute
I wish was with you.
This space will place
Time and thought
Resolve to find
The passage.
To self be true
Selfless for you
Selfish must be for both.
Find me
Find you
And where we stand
Ours a common land
I shall return
To you with I
A renewed and hopeful man.

you awake in me, a spirit of a child, discovery of new,

and the slumbering adult, for fear of spirits loss, loses the innocence of truth

selfish and wrong

how this adult yearns to be of child again and again

Panorama

Paint me a garden
As found in your heart
The place we both share
It’s found in your art
It’s nurture and care
A landscape of colours
Of flowers and greens
Birds and the butterflies
And life yet to be seen
The joining of music
From birds and the wind
Our voices together
To accomplish great works
Paint me your garden
And I will you mine
